If you are transporting dangerous or hazardous goods you will need to hold a dangerous goods (D) endorsement on your driver licence. Dangerous goods include substances and articles that have explosive, flammable, toxic, infectious or corrosive properties. They also include empty containers that have contained dangerous goods. 

The NZTA certificate must be presented to a licence issuing agent with in 60 days to have your D endorsement added to your licence.
